I started the painted type series as a love letter to typography and my favorite typefaces over my 20 year career. I'm using old and new fonts like Futura, Knockout, Franklin Gothic and this one: Minion. I wanted type that I've used (too) liberally in the various magazine and brand campaigns I've designed over the years. Minion is a classic serif designed by Robert Slimbach in 1990 for Adobe Systems. It was inspired by type used in the Renaissance period. It's legible, has personality and is opinionated, like when it gives you advice you'd rather not hear.
