I started this painted type series as a love letter to typography and my favorite typefaces over my 25+ year (yikes) career. I wanted to use type that I've used (too) liberally in the various magazine and brand campaigns I've designed over the years. The paintings evolved over the years transforming from a love letter to a mix of phrases and direct quotes from the people around me, some profane but all filled with real talk.
